BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt questioned why Gandhi did not seize the opportunity to interact with people in weather-favorable regions instead. The BJP leader reflected on how the situation could have led to political blame games had it been election season.

Bhatt characterized the decision to cancel events in Almora and Pauri as a security measure but raised questions about Congress's confidence in their political relevance in Uttarakhand. He alleged that there was minimal public enthusiasm for Gandhi's visit, using the weather as a convenient excuse to cut the tour short. Bhatt noted that, historically, Gandhi's visits show a pattern of being purely ceremonial with little genuine engagement.

In his social media address, Rahul Gandhi expressed his disappointment at not being able to meet Uttarakhand citizens due to the unfavourable weather. However, the BJP's Bhatt accused Gandhi of using his visit to further appeasement policies rather than focusing on local issues. The BJP leader cited repeated mentions of a gym visit in programme communications, suggesting that Gandhi's interests lay elsewhere.
