Future Uncertain for Russia-U.S. Negotiations
Russia does not anticipate a forthcoming visit from U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The duo was involved in previous mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine, but talks stalled earlier this year following increased military actions by the U.S. and Israel against Iran.
Russia has stated it is not expecting a visit from U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the immediate future, as reported by Interfax on Friday. This development was confirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Witkoff and Kushner were previously engaged in mediation efforts aimed at easing tensions between Russia and Ukraine. However, these efforts came to a standstill last February.
The cessation of these diplomatic talks aligns with the period when the United States and Israel commenced military operations targeting Iran, consequently complicating international diplomacy in the region.
