Zelenskiy Engages U.S. in Diplomacy Push for Ukraine Peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy held a constructive dialogue with U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, expressing optimism for forthcoming diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine war. Talks are aligning with European leaders and aim towards a potential ceasefire meeting with Russian President Putin.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy recently described his conversation with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as 'very positive' while in Chisinau, Moldova. The focus was on diplomatic strategies to resolve the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
Zelenskiy, returning from discussions in London with European leaders, emphasized the need for diplomacy. The prospect of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin for a potential ceasefire was backed by the UK, France, and Germany.
Although U.S.-led negotiations, managed by Witkoff and Kushner, have lagged amidst U.S. focus on Iran, Zelenskiy remains hopeful. He highlighted discussions regarding the upcoming G7 summit and expressed gratitude for U.S. support in assessing Ukraine's stance.
