Taiwan’s military has demonstrated its growing defensive strength by test-firing its HIMARS rocket system. Conducted on the west coast on Wednesday, the exercise displayed the unit’s ability to ‘shoot-and-scoot’, avoiding enemy radar and significantly enhancing battlefield survivability.
Despite a persistent threat from China, which claims Taiwan as part of its territory, Taiwan is modernizing its military arsenal to counter potential invasions. The HIMARS, known for its use in Ukraine, has a range of 300 km and can target China's coastal areas. This exercise marks a pivotal point in Taiwan’s defensive strategy.
In its strategic move, Taiwan reinforces its rejection of China's sovereignty claims, asserting that the island’s future rests solely in the hands of its residents.
