Chinese President Xi Jinping formally endorsed Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing during a pivotal meeting in Beijing aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
During their dialogue, Xi expressed a commitment to reinforcing leadership over their countries' ties and emphasized collaboration on regional peace and development initiatives. The leaders signed 18 significant cooperation agreements covering cross-border transportation, free trade, and disaster management.
Myanmar remains a critical partner for China's Belt and Road Initiative, with substantial investments, including a cross-country oil and gas pipeline. This meeting highlights a potential strengthening of relations amid Myanmar's ongoing political struggles.
