In a bold claim, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam stated that the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction could face extinction by 2029, amid growing speculation that several MPs might defect to the faction led by Eknath Shinde. Speaking about 'Operation Tiger,' Nirupam argued that both leaders and workers are steadily losing faith in the UBT leadership.
Nirupam described the party, referred to as 'Ubatha,' as gradually faltering, with MLAs and MPs purportedly withdrawing their support. 'By 2029, the party will be finished. Members are leaving Ubatha every day,' he declared, distancing himself from the internal issues, thus framing a narrative of a dwindling party.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Minister Ashish Jaiswal remained cautious, refraining from directly commenting on UBT's internal turmoil. Instead, he hinted that any decisions MPs make about their political future should only be disclosed after they are finalized. As speculation intensifies, UBT MP Sanjay Raut and Shiv Sena NC leader Shaina dismissed claims of defections, emphasizing their allegiance to Uddhav Thackeray and denying any intent to disrupt rival parties.
