Pompeo says U.S. concerned about Hong Kong violence, says China must honor freedoms

The United State is "gravely concerned" about deepening political unrest and violence in Hong Kong, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday, and he urged the government of Hong Kong to take clear steps addressing the concerns of protesters.

Speaking at a media briefing, Pompeo said the Chinese Communist Party must honor its promises to the people of Hong Kong.
