Rainy day in Delhi, temperature falls

It was a rainy Monday in the national capital with the continuous downpour throughout the day leading to a drop in the maximum temperature by six notches.

"The minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year while the maximum temperature settled at 27 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal," a MeT official said.

The humidity level was 100 percent.

The rainfall received by Safdarjung observatory was 24 mm while the Palam observatory recorded 24.5 mm rainfall. The rainfall received by Lodhi Road observatory was 20.2 mm while the rainfall recorded by Aya Nagar observatory was 23 mm, the official said.

The weatherman had predicted cloudy sky with moderate rainfall and scattered thundershowers for Tuesday.

"Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 34 and 23 degrees Celsius," the official added.

Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures had settled at 31.2 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
