Lightning Strikes Cause Devastation in Thane

A house in Thane's Khaire village was destroyed, and four buffaloes died after lightning caused a fire. The fire broke out on the night of Sunday and Monday, reducing the structure to ashes and leaving five cattle injured. The total loss is estimated at Rs 6.68 lakh.

In a tragic incident in the Thane district of Maharashtra, a house was completely gutted and four buffaloes lost their lives due to a fire triggered by a lightning strike. Vasant Chowdhari, a disaster control officer, confirmed that the lightning strike occurred on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday in Khaire village, Shahapur.

The blaze that ensued engulfed the entire structure, reducing it to ashes. In addition to the four buffalo deaths, five other cattle were injured. The total financial loss from the incident has been estimated by the revenue department at Rs 6.68 lakh.

Local authorities are assessing further measures to support those affected by this unforeseen natural calamity.
