Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has assured a delegation from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of his commitment to resolving the water crisis plaguing the national capital. Meeting on Sunday, the delegation pointed out that Delhi has been receiving 113 million gallons per day (MGD) less water than it is supposed to.
The AAP leaders emphasized that Delhi's population has grown from 1.1 crore in 1994 to three crore today, while the water allocation has remained stagnant. They stressed the need for urgent action to meet the city's evolving demands.
The L-G assured the delegation, which included prominent AAP members such as Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh and N D Gupta, of his efforts to ensure Delhi receives its fair share of water from Haryana. The meeting ended on a positive note, with a promise of collaboration to address the issue.
