Southwest Monsoon Advances in Gujarat: Heavy Rainfall Forecasted

After a slow start in south Gujarat, the southwest monsoon has advanced further into the state, bringing heavy rainfall. The IMD predicts more rain in the coming days, affecting various districts in Gujarat and the adjoining north Arabian Sea. Heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for several areas.

In a significant development, the southwest monsoon, which made an early appearance in parts of south Gujarat on June 11, has finally progressed further into the state, according to officials.

Favorable conditions are in place for the monsoon to expand to more parts of Gujarat and the adjoining north Arabian Sea within the next 3-4 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated in its Sunday evening forecast.

The IMD's weather bulletin highlighted the monsoon's advance into several regions, including Gujarat, portions of the Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand.
