Ajni Railway Station Redevelopment: Ahead of Schedule

The redevelopment of Ajni railway station in Nagpur, Maharashtra, is progressing ahead of schedule and will be completed four months early. The RLDA, overseeing the project, aims to enhance passenger facilities with modern and eco-friendly designs. The project, costing Rs 297 crore, is currently at 30% physical progress.

The redevelopment work of the Ajni railway station in Nagpur is advancing at a remarkable pace, set to finish four months ahead of its January 2026 deadline, according to the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA).

The RLDA, a statutory body under the Ministry of Railways, is modernizing 15 railway stations nationwide, including Ajni. The project focuses on offering top-tier facilities to passengers, incorporating green building concepts and features for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities).

Despite the complexity of the brownfield project, preparatory works and utility shifting are complete. The Rs 297 crore project, now 30% complete, involves construction on both eastern and western sides, designed to accommodate 45,000 passengers daily and features modern amenities such as escalators, lifts, and dedicated Foot Over Bridges (FOBs).
