Delhi Urban Development Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged on Monday that Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar ignored multiple requests since February for creating a comprehensive strategy to desilt the city's drains.
Bharadwaj addressed a press conference, explaining that his repeated attempts to convene meetings and solicit responses from key departments were met with silence or inadequate replies.
Despite issuing notices and writing letters in February and subsequent months, Kumar allegedly provided an 'absurd' reply in June and misled the high court regarding the situation. Bharadwaj accused Kumar of dereliction of duty and misinforming authorities about the waterlogging and desilting progress in Delhi.
