Amit Shah Assures Support Amidst Wayanad Landslide Crisis

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday spoke to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to take stock of the devastating landslides in Wayanad.

Shah assured Vijayan of all possible assistance from the central government to manage the crisis effectively.

Speaking on the situation, Shah expressed deep concern over the landslides and highlighted the ongoing efforts by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to conduct search and rescue operations on a war footing. A second team is being dispatched to further bolster the rescue efforts.

Shah offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.

The landslides, triggered by heavy rains, have resulted in significant casualties. While state government sources report at least 57 deaths, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi informed the Lok Sabha that over 70 people have lost their lives in the tragic event.
