Tragic Wall Collapse in Madhya Pradesh Kills Nine Children

Nine children were killed and two others injured when a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed during a religious event in Shahpur village, Madhya Pradesh. In a heartbreaking incident, nine children lost their lives and two others were injured after a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district on Sunday, according to a senior official.

The tragic event occurred between 8:30 am and 9 am near a temple during a religious program in Shahpur village, under Rehli assembly seat. Sagar Divisional Commissioner Virendra Singh Rawat informed PTI over the phone that the victims, aged 10 to 15 years, were killed when the wall collapsed on a tent where they were seated.

Authorities, including the district collector, rushed to the scene. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the incident, announcing financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh for each victim's family, and emphasized that proper treatment would be given to the injured. The cause of the wall collapse was attributed to heavy rains in the area.
