A five-month-old cub of African cheetah named Gamini died at Kuno National Park (KNP) in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, an official confirmed.

This marks the second fatality of a cheetah cub in two months, following a similar incident on June 4. Both cubs were born to Gamini, one of six in her litter from March this year.

After emergency treatment failed Monday morning, the cub's death was confirmed by APCCF Uttam Kumar Sharma and Director of the Lion Project. This latest tragedy raises the death count to 12 since the Cheetah Reintroduction project launched in September 2022, which includes seven adults and five cubs.
