Delhi Lt Governor Leads Successful De-Silting Operation

Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena reported significant progress in de-silting three major drains. Over 700 metric tons of silt was removed within a week, transforming clogged channels into free-flowing ones. He has directed agencies to maintain the cleanliness of these drains even after the monsoon.

Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena announced on Sunday that the de-silting work of three major drains in the national capital is progressing efficiently, with over 700 metric tons of silt removed in a single week.

Saxena, who visited the Sunehri, Kushak, and Barapulla drains on August 4, said the cleanup efforts are moving forward satisfactorily. More than 100 workers, using advanced machinery, are engaged in the round-the-clock operation.

He directed officials to complete the declogging of all arterial drains within a month and noted that a permanent solution for water flow from covered drains is being devised. Post-monsoon cleaning will continue to ensure long-term results.
