Heavy Rain Batters Gurugram, Causes Waterlogging and Traffic Chaos

Heavy rain in Gurugram led to severe waterlogging and traffic snarls on Sunday. Key areas, including major roads and the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, were heavily inundated. Traffic police reported significant delays, and civic authorities are working to drain water and manage the situation.

Heavy rain lashed Gurugram on Sunday, causing severe waterlogging and traffic snarls in several areas of the city.

Parts of the city were heavily flooded due to non-stop rainfall, with key stretches like the Narsinghpur segment of the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, Basai, and Golf Course Extension Road particularly hard-hit.

According to the district administration, Gurugram received 70 mm of rainfall, with Wazirabad recording up to 108 mm. Various areas, including police lines, Bus Stand Road, and several sectors, faced significant waterlogging, impacting both vehicular and pedestrian movement.

In a post on X, Gurugram Traffic Police reported widespread waterlogging and noted that commuting times were adversely affected.

Officials reported significant congestion on National Highway 48 and other major roads. DCP Virender Vij stated that teams are actively managing key locations and coordinating with civic authorities to drain water.
