Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday met Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil to discuss ways to expedite the completion of the Polavaram irrigation project, including repairing or constructing a new diaphragm wall.
The project’s completion has faced hurdles due to damage to its diaphragm wall. State Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu explained the detailed discussions on repairing the wall or constructing a new one, and whether to use the old agency or appoint a new one to finish the project promptly.
Highlighting the significance of the Polavaram Project as the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh, Ramanaidu criticized the slow progress under the YSRCP regime and underscored the TDP government’s commitment to completing the project swiftly.
