Twin Earthquakes Shake Jammu and Kashmir: No Casualties Reported

Jammu and Kashmir experienced two consecutive earthquakes on Tuesday morning. Despite causing widespread panic in the Valley, there were no reports of casualties or property damage. The first quake measured 4.9 on the Richter Scale, and the second measured 4.8, both with epicenters in Baramulla district.

Two back-to-back earthquakes jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning, sparking panic across the Valley. However, officials reported no loss of life or property damage.

The first earthquake, registering a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter Scale, struck at 6:45 am. Its epicenter was located at a latitude of 34.17 north and a longitude of 74.16 east at a depth of 5 km in Baramulla district, north Kashmir.

A second quake, with a magnitude of 4.8, occurred shortly after at 6:52 am. This quake, too, had its epicenter in Baramulla at a latitude of 34.20 north and a longitude of 74.31 east at a depth of 10 km. Officials confirmed there were no reports of any loss of life or damage to property.
