Prime Minister Modi Hails Landmark BioE3 Policy for Biotechnology Advancements

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the BioE3 policy, approved by the Union Cabinet, which aims to foster high-performance biotech manufacturing. The policy will encourage scientific and industrial advancements while also creating employment opportunities. Additionally, the Vigyan Dhara scheme, with a substantial budget, will promote scientific research and innovation among young minds.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the ''BioE3'' policy, recently approved by the Union Cabinet, as a landmark initiative that promises to encourage scientific, industrial, and societal advancements.

The BioE3 (Biotechnology for Economy, Environment, and Employment) policy is designed to support research and development and entrepreneurship across various biotech sectors. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that the policy fosters high-performance bio-manufacturing.

Modi also celebrated the Vigyan Dhara scheme, a unified central sector scheme with a proposed outlay of Rs 10,579 crore during the 15th Finance Commission period. The scheme's three components aim to build scientific and technological capacity, promote R&D, and innovate technology deployment.
