A private bus overturned and fell onto a car in the Mohanlalganj area on the outskirts of the state capital, leaving five people injured, including a child, police reported on Friday.

The accident occurred around 9.45 pm on Thursday on the Raebareli-Lucknow Road, ACP Rajneesh Verma stated. The double-decker bus fell on the hatchback, crushing its rear and trapping the child inside, according to accident site visuals.

Emergency 112 service received information about the incident, prompting local and traffic police to rush to the scene. Rescuers freed the trapped individuals, including the child who was extracted with the aid of a crane. While there were no fatalities, the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment, and legal proceedings are underway, ACP Verma confirmed.
