Delhi is facing an unusual heatwave this November, with temperatures defying seasonal expectations. Daytime highs remain above 30°C, while nighttime lows hover between 16-18°C, much warmer than the average range of 10-15°C seen in previous years.
Historical data from 2011 to 2023 indicates that November typically marks a decline in temperatures, with daytime highs between 25-28°C and overnight lows from 10-15°C. Yet, this year's figures show no such decrease, with record highs reaching 32.4°C.
Weather officials attribute the delayed onset of winter to the absence of Western Disturbances and insufficient Himalayan snowfall, conditions expected to change after November 17, when colder temperatures may finally arrive.
