Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has called for innovative urban development strategies, citing an anticipated rise in the demand for sustainable housing. This was emphasized during the inauguration of FAIRPRO 2025, a real estate exhibition held by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations (CREDAI).
Stalin revealed that master plans are being formulated for 136 cities, including Coimbatore, Madurai, and Hosur. For Chennai, the third master plan is underway, focusing on sustainable growth and aiming to improve the quality of life while supporting economic and technological progress.
The Chief Minister also announced plans for nine satellite townships to surround Chennai, coupled with modern transport facilities. His government aims to streamline urban planning permissions and boost recreational and infrastructure development across Tamil Nadu.
