Tragedy Strikes: Four Labourers Suffocate in Mumbai Construction Mishap

In a tragic incident in south Mumbai, four labourers lost their lives due to suffocation while attending to a water tank cleaning task in an under-construction building. Officials initially reported five fatalities, later confirming the death toll as four.
The incident occurred at the Bismillah Space building on Dimtimkar Road, Nagpada area, as five workers fell unconscious inside the tank. Swift action by the fire brigade led to their rescue, though only one, Purhan Shaikh, survived and is recuperating at JJ Hospital.
Local authorities have registered an accidental death report and initiated an investigation to examine if there were lapses in safety measures by those who employed the workers. Further actions will be dependent on the findings of the ongoing probe.
