The meteorological department in Himachal Pradesh has issued a 'yellow' alert, predicting heavy rain and snow in various parts of the state. Since Monday evening, several areas have already experienced light rain and snowfall, as reported by residents and local authorities.

According to the Shimla centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), districts like Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi need to brace themselves for heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning on Friday. Tribal regions such as Lahaul and Spiti are anticipated to receive heavy snowfall.

The IMD also forecasts isolated thunderstorms and lightning on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Weather conditions suggest that Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur, and higher regions of Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu will witness rain and potential snow between March 11 and 17, with significant rainfall expected on March 14.
