The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) in Thane, Maharashtra, has sanctioned a substantial budget of Rs 988.72 crore for the 2025-26 fiscal year, emphasizing advancements in smart infrastructure and environmental sustainability while promoting gender parity.

UMC's administrator and Commissioner, Manisha Ahwale, approved the budget following the tenure conclusion of the corporators, revealing a slight increase in water tax to boost revenue.

The budget predicts major revenue from GST and property tax, with significant allocations for education and staff salaries. Focused on a strategic five-point programme, anticipated projects include new administrative and recreational facilities to bolster civic services.
