A newly built railway overbridge in Madhya Pradesh, featuring an unusual 90-degree turn, faces criticism and derision even before its inauguration.
The Rs 18 crore structure near the Aishbagh stadium has raised concerns due to its challenging design for vehicular negotiation. In response, the state's Public Works Department (PWD) has constituted a committee to suggest improvements.
PWD Minister Rakesh Singh stated the design emerged from land constraints. The National Highway Authority team has been involved in the investigation. Efforts are now being directed towards acquiring additional land from the railways to modify the turn into a safer curve.
