One fisherman was successfully rescued near Digha coast in West Bengal after four went missing off the coast of Balasore district in Odisha. Efforts are ongoing to find the remaining fishermen, police reported on Sunday.

The missing fishermen belong to a single family from Baliapal block. Identified as Gopal Giri, his sons Madhusudan and Rabindra, and brother-in-law Jaganath Pal, they failed to return Saturday evening, causing panic among the family who alerted police.

Extensive search operations, involving modern equipment and collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard, are underway. The use of drones and marine police vessels highlights a comprehensive response involving various agencies working together to ensure the missing fishermen's safe return.
