Uttarakhand Battles Flash Floods: Massive Rescue Operations Underway

Flash floods in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi region have left 11 army troops missing and resulted in four casualties. Rescue operations have saved around 150 people, yet efforts are hindered by blocked roads and bad weather. The NDRF and ITBP continue to work tirelessly in the affected areas.

In the wake of devastating flash floods in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi, urgent rescue operations have been launched, although the whereabouts of 11 missing army troops remain unknown, according to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Deputy Inspector General Mohsen Shahedi stated on Wednesday that approximately 150 individuals have been rescued so far, while three NDRF teams are on their way to Dharali village but are facing delays due to landslides blocking the Rishikesh-Uttarkashi highway.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police successfully rescued 413 stranded pilgrims using a rope-based traverse crossing technique, even as the severe weather and terrain challenges continue to impede rescue missions in the region.
