Tragedy Strikes Bakerwal Family in Kashmir: Tree Falls on Tent
A tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district led to the death of a man and his daughter when a tree fell on their tent due to gusty winds. Two other family members sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The accident occurred during a landslide precipitated by adverse weather conditions.

In a tragic event, a man and his daughter lost their lives while two other family members sustained injuries after a tree fell on their tent in Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident was reported by police on Wednesday.
The calamity struck in south Kashmir, as strong winds and rain dislodged a tree and boulders, causing them to fall on the tent where the nomadic Bakerwal family was residing. The tragedy was compounded by a small landslide due to the adverse weather conditions in Kanzalpathri, within the upper stretches of Waltango Kund.
According to a police officer, "Four members of the family were inside the tent when the incident transpired. Mohammad Shafi Boker and his daughter Reshma died at the scene, while the injured family members are now stable in a Qazigund hospital."
