Kerala Tourists Safe but Stranded After Uttarakhand Cloudburst

A group of 28 tourists from Kerala, missing after a devastating cloudburst in Uttarakhand, are confirmed safe, according to their families. The group, including 20 Kerala natives settled in Maharashtra, became stranded after mudslides made travel impossible.

Ambili N Nair, a family member of one of the tourists, relayed news from Defence sources. Despite being safe, the group remains trapped in their bus amid difficult conditions, with no mobile service and depleted phone batteries. The Army's efforts to reach them have been impeded by the harsh terrain.

The tourists were traveling from Uttarkashi to Gangotri when the disaster struck. The cloudburst in Dharali, an area on the way to Gangotri, resulted in severe landslides. Officials report at least four deaths and significant destruction in the region, with nearly half the village buried under mud and debris.
