The Morbe dam, Navi Mumbai's principal water source, has reached full capacity after six days of incessant rainfall, officials reported on Wednesday.

Reaching this milestone at 3:10 am, the dam has begun discharging 1,123 cusecs of water into the Dhavari river basin, according to an announcement by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). Uniquely owned by a municipal corporation, this dam is located on the Dhavari river in Khalapur taluka of Raigad district.

The dam boasts a total storage capacity of 190.89 million cubic meters and last reached its full capacity on August 29 last year.
