Tragedy in Chamoli: Landslides and Floods Claim Lives

Tragedy strikes Uttarakhand's Chamoli district as five more bodies were recovered from flood and landslide-affected villages, escalating the death toll to seven on Friday. Rescue teams, undeterred by the challenging conditions, persist in their search for those still missing.
In the wake of the devastation, affected areas such as Kuntari Laga Phali and Sarpani are grappling with extensive damage, including destruction to homes and infrastructure. Family members of the deceased mourn their loss as operations continue. Two individuals remain unaccounted for in Dhurma village.
About 95 residents have been transferred to relief facilities with necessities supplied, while those seriously injured are receiving medical attention at AIIMS Rishikesh. Authorities, including Chamoli's District Magistrate, remain on the ground supervising the ongoing rescue efforts amid challenging circumstances.
