Himachal Pradesh witnessed its higher reaches enveloped in snowfall for the second consecutive day, leading to a noticeable dip in minimum temperatures. Himachal's Lahaul and Spiti district saw snow accumulations of 5 cm in Gondhla and 4 cm in Keylong, according to official reports.
Alongside snow, parts of the state endured intermittent rains, with Guler receiving 42 mm since Sunday evening, closely followed by Nagrota Suriyan and other areas. Thunderstorms were prevalent in several regions, while wind speeds of up to 57 kmph hit other areas like Hamirpur and Narkanda.
A strong western disturbance is set to influence the state in the next two days, likely causing heavy rain and snowfall, notably in Kangra, Chamba, and Lahaul-Spiti. The Shimla MeT office has warned of significant weather changes, with conditions expected mainly dry post-October 9.
