A sudden fire erupted in a multi-storey residential structure in Ghaziabad's Indirapuram area on Wednesday night but was controlled within an hour, authorities reported.

According to Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal, the fire, which occurred at Divya Apartments in Shakti Khand-2, posed no threat to human life as the residents were promptly evacuated.

Preliminary assessments indicate that the fire originated from fiber sheets used in a balcony, which subsequently spread. Officials confirmed a detailed probe is being conducted to confirm the root cause.
