The Kendriya Basti Vikas Samity (KBVS), chaired by chief patron Dulal Bhuiyan, made a significant move on Saturday by submitting a memorandum to East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The action aims to support displaced individuals after the demolition of homes in Bhuiyandih.
In a show of their frustrations, families whose homes were razed on November 26 gathered in front of the East Singhbhum collectorate to voice their discontent. The demolition, ordered to facilitate road widening, has left several families in distress.
Dulal Bhuiyan has called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident, raising concerns that the homes demolished belonged predominantly to poorer residents. The demand underscores a broader issue of equitable treatment in urban development projects.
