Jharkhand is gearing up for a return to cold-wave-like conditions starting December 3, as minimum temperatures are projected to decrease by four degrees Celsius, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The state has experienced mild relief from chilly weather lately, attributable to a western disturbance over the Himalayas, easterly winds, and cloudiness from Cyclone Ditwah. Most regions reported minimum temperatures exceeding 10 degrees Celsius, per Monday's weather bulletin.
Ranchi, the state capital, recorded a low of 13.4 degrees Celsius, slightly above average. A dip by five degrees is anticipated in the next 48 hours, paralleling trends in other towns. Deputy Director of Ranchi Meteorological Centre, Abhishek Anand, predicts clear skies next before northwesterly winds steepen the cold spell.
