A catastrophic fire claimed the lives of 25 individuals at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa, leading to police action against the club's owners, its manager, and the event organizers. The incident resulted in the detainment of Roshan Redkar, the sarpanch of Arpora-Nagoa, who had issued the club's trade license.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has initiated a magisterial inquiry to thoroughly investigate the cause of the fire and assign responsibility. Among the dead were 14 staff members and four tourists, with the identities of seven others yet to be confirmed. The club, located in Arpora village, had opened only last year.

Initial reports indicate the fire began on the nightclub's first floor, where congested exits impeded the evacuation, leading to fatalities. Meanwhile, all injured parties are receiving comprehensive medical care, as officials work to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
