In a tragic incident, three family members died when their tractor-trolley plunged into a broken culvert on the Lahar-Ajnar road in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district. The mishap occurred at around 9 pm on Tuesday when they were returning from selling paddy at the Lahar market.
The culvert's dilapidated conditions and collapsing edges contributed to the accident. The vehicle quickly submerged, trapping and drowning its occupants. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and after considerable effort, managed to recover the submerged tractor and the victims' bodies.
Locals had repeatedly complained about the culvert's dangerous state, which had seen many accidents, but authorities failed to take corrective action. The deceased, identified as Jhinguri Singh, Balbir Singh, and Shevin Singh, were sent for post-mortem examinations.
