On Thursday evening, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake rattled Tibet, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The quake hit at precisely 7:59 p.m. local time, which corresponds to 1159 GMT.
The center of the seismic activity was pinpointed in Nagqu county, situated in northern Tibet. CENC data revealed that the quake's epicenter lay at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
