Tremors in Karachi: Seismic Activity Raises Concerns
A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit Karachi and parts of Balochistan, Pakistan, with its epicenter in Sonmiani. No casualties were reported. This follows previous tremors in June and July. Officials previously linked the activity to a fault line near Karachi's Landhi area, stirring worries about future seismic risks.

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Karachi, Pakistan's largest city, and areas of the Balochistan province. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the epicenter was located in Balochistan's Sonmiani, with a depth of 12 kilometers, approximately 87 kilometers from Karachi.
Rescue 1122 officials reported no casualties or injuries from the tremor. However, this event has escalated concerns, as Karachi experienced minor earthquakes in June and July, suggesting a possible risk of more significant seismic activity.
Meteorological officials previously attributed the June and July tremors to seismic energy release along a historical fault line in Karachi's Landhi area, raising alarms about potential future quakes.
