In a significant move towards sustainability, Polyplastics Co., Ltd., a leader in engineering thermoplastics, has announced the launch of two new DURAFIDE(R) polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) grades made from mechanically recycled content. With 40% glass fiber reinforcement, the DURAFIDE(R) rG-PPS 1140A1R00 and 1140A1R30 are set to hit the market soon.
These developments are part of Polyplastics' DURACIRCLE(R) initiative, aiming for 100% circularity of engineering plastics through the 'Open PIR Mechanical Recycling Scheme.' This scheme uses process scrap as raw material collected from customers, ensuring high-quality production standards through rigorous inspection and reformulation processes.
The company is leading efforts to create 'local production for local consumption' recycling chains globally, enhancing its ability to meet market needs and reduce environmental impact. Polyplastics is also exploring collaboration opportunities with various waste-to-value industries to bolster its recycling initiatives.
