A fatal incident occurred when a slab from a girder bridge of Mumbai's under-construction Metro Line 4 collapsed, resulting in one death and leaving three injured. The collapse took place in the Mulund area on Saturday afternoon, impacting vehicles passing on LBS Road.
Ramdhan Yadav died at the scene, while Rajkumar Indrajeet Yadav remains critically injured in ICU. Mahendra Pratap Yadav and Deepa Ruhiya, who also suffered injuries, are in stable condition. Authorities, including the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority, are investigating the cause of the collapse.
Amid the tragedy, Congress Leader Varsha Gaikwad criticized the government for allegedly prioritizing project publicity over public safety. She demanded accountability and questioned whether safety standards were compromised in the rush to complete the metro works, highlighting the need for stricter safety measures.
