The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has ramped up surveillance, sanitation, and beautification efforts ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Lutyens' Delhi, scheduled from February 16 to 20. Vice-Chairperson Kuljeet Chahal conducted an on-ground review, initiating at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) where pivotal civic services and security measures are being monitored in real-time.
To ensure seamless operations, 333 NDMC and 183 Delhi Police CCTV cameras have been integrated with the ICCC for continuous surveillance. A dedicated traffic coordination helpline has been established in collaboration with Delhi Traffic Police. Various vehicles such as garbage trucks, jetting machines, and anti-smog guns are now GPS tracked for efficiency, while 99 high-footfall areas have been earmarked for enhanced sanitation services.
In addition to these measures, 20 air-quality sensors have been deployed across the NDMC vicinity. The ICCC serves as a hub for centrally monitoring complaints received through various channels for swift resolution. The beautification drive includes installing over 15,000 potted plants, 4,000 hanging baskets, special building illuminations, and upgrades on 41 major roads, enhancing the city's aesthetic and functionality.
