The meteorological centre has issued an orange alert for hailstorms expected in isolated areas of Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts on Wednesday and Thursday. A yellow alert followed for heavy rain and snow at various locations, including Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu, from Thursday to Friday.

Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds up to 60 km/h are anticipated in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and other districts through the week. In response, Manali administration safely facilitated the passage of over 200 vehicles despite challenging conditions at Atal Tunnel Rohtang.

The weather has dual implications in Himachal Pradesh; while it disrupts transport, it brings relief to farmers and boosts tourism. Agricultural activities benefit from snowfall, and tourist influx is expected to increase. However, authorities warn against using landslide-prone routes as restoration efforts are underway.
