A fire broke out in Bhubaneswar's CRP Square market complex on Friday morning, according to officials. A trader first discovered the fire upon noticing smoke in his shop around 10 am, prompting an immediate response from the local fire department.

Firefighters acted swiftly, breaking windows on the first floor and using water to curb the flames. Despite dense smoke filling the building, emergency personnel equipped with oxygen support managed to enter and navigate the premises safely. Preliminary reports indicate damage to multiple shops, which sold items including cosmetics, garments, and books. Remarkably, there have been no injuries or fatalities reported so far.

Fire Services Department Officer Manoranjan Rout confirmed the fire has been contained but noted lingering smoke. A thorough damage assessment is planned, followed by an investigation to determine the blaze's cause. This incident echoes a similar fire in the Lingipur market in February, which caused significant damage.
