A fire erupted at a well-known eatery in Shillong's Motphran district on Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to official sources. The blaze reportedly started from a stove where snacks were being prepared.
The situation worsened as the flames reached diesel stored on the premises, which was being used as a substitute for LPG due to recent supply disruptions. Eyewitnesses noted the rapid spread of the fire, resembling something out of a fast-paced disaster scenario.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel promptly responded to the incident. Their swift action managed to bring the blaze under control without any casualties, a fire department official confirmed.
