A massive fire engulfed a dyeing unit in Badlapur, Thane district, on Friday afternoon, causing major property damage without any casualties, according to civic officials. The fire broke out around 4pm at Eco Kent Processor, situated in the Mankivali MIDC area.

The blaze, fueled by extensive cloth materials and chemical drums stored at the site, spread swiftly across the premises. Thankfully, all workers escaped unharmed as five fire engines were promptly deployed to manage the situation, said an official. Initial fears of workers being trapped were allayed as authorities confirmed everyone on site was safe.

The fire was contained within an hour, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. Cooling operations are currently ongoing, with investigations underway to determine the fire's cause.
