MCD's SWAGAM Portal: Transforming Unauthorized Colonies in Delhi
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) launched the SWAGAM portal for regularising 1,511 unauthorized colonies, but just 15 residents have applied for ownership rights so far. Efforts are underway to increase awareness and encourage applications through auto-announcements and camps. The MCD is also deploying architects to aid the documentation process.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has launched the SWAGAM portal to regularize 1,511 unauthorized colonies, yet only 15 residents have filed for ownership rights to date.
Officials are initiating campaigns to boost awareness, such as broadcasting jingles on auto-tippers and organizing camps to clarify the required documentation process.
Furthermore, the MCD is harnessing the expertise of over 700 architects and establishing help desks across its zonal offices to expedite the application process, aiming for thousands of regularization requests in the upcoming months.
